Gary Wang is the National Taiwan University professor of Creativity & Entrepreneurship Program and the project lead of Taiwan Acceerator Plus program. Prior to this, Gary was the co-founder and chairman of Pergolas Medical Technolog and the managing director of H&Q Asia Pacific. Earlier, he was also the chairman of Broadweb, a network security company, and CEO of CareMax Capital. Gary previously held many senior executive positions at 3Com in operations, engineering and manufacturing, and served as the president of 3Com APR Operations.
In late 2002, Gary founded a joint venture (H3C) in China with Huawei. In 2005, 3Com became the majority owner of H3C and ultimately acquired 100% of H3C in December 2006. A private equity company agreed to pay $2.2 billion to buy out H3C in 2008.
Dr. Gary Wang is the co-founder and chairman of Pergolas Medical Technology. Prior to this, Gary was the chairman of Broadweb, which is a network security company, and CEO of CareMax Capital, a venture capital firm focusing on quantitative POCT (Point-of-Care Testing) solutions. Gary previously held many senior executive positions at 3Com in operations, engineering and manufacturing, and served as president of 3Com APR Operations.
Gary recieved his B.S. in Telecommunication Engineering from Chiao-Tung University, M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University, and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He was awarded “Outstanding Alumni” by Chiao-Tung University in 2003. Gary is also an alumnus of Stanford University through the Executive Program of Graduate School of Business.
